Our History

The Ebenezer Bryce Foundation was established by his descendants in 2021 when his home in Bryce, Arizona, became available for purchase. The family decided to rally to preserve and restore it.

The Ebenezer and Mary Ann Bryce home is located at 6384 Bryce-Eden Road in Bryce, Arizona.

A huge thanks to Beverly Paull. In 1995, on an exploratory drive, she crossed over the Gila River bridge, coming into Bryce, and saw the red-brick building for the first time. She fell in love with the historic site. The home was in a state of disrepair. She purchased the home. She began the long and arduous journey of preserving it over a period of twenty-six years.

Thanks to her foresight, we have this treasured spot to remember our beloved Ebenezer and Mary Ann Bryce.

In 1884 Ebenezer constructed a frame house on his farm in Bryce, Arizona. Ebenezer and Mary Ann lived in that home until he built the brick home, just a few yards south of the lumber dwelling in 1897.

2025 will mark 128 years since the brick home was built.

Dick and Nell, a matched team

Ebenezer must have had a sense of humor. He gave their twins the nickname of Dick and Nell after a pair of matched mules that he and Mary Ann owned.

They were nicknames that stuck because the twins went by the names for the rest of their lives.
